Born: 10.09.1891, Warszawa, Poland Married 1928 to Halina Konopacka Died: 3.08.1946, New York, USA
Diplomat and Treasury Secretary in pre-war Polish Government. In the years 1931-1936 he joined the editorial team of the Polish newspaper, Gazeta Polska (leading right-wing paper) and shortly afterwards became one of its chief contributors. During the 1939 war campaign he directed the transfer of Polish gold reserves to Paris, France. He joined the armed forces but soon afterwards was sent on indefinite leave for political reasons. From France he made his way to Spain and Portugal finally reaching USA in September 1941, settling in New York. He joined the organizing committee of the National Federation of Americans of Polish Descent ( June 1942 ) becoming its leading thinker and editor of Biuletyn Organizacyjny. He became deputy chairman of the newly established Jozef Pilsudski Institute of America with its headquarters in New York in 1943, and from October 1944 until his death he held the post of vice-president of the Institute.
