Polish athleate, winner of the first Olympic gold medal for Poland for a discus throw at the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam. Gold Medallist at the Women?s World Games in 1926 and 1930. World record holder ( 39,62m discus throw in 1928) Twenty seven times Polish national champion in many track and field events ( discus throw, javelin throw, shot put, high jump and pentathlon ). In addition Halina took part in motor racing. At the outbreak of the Second World War, she assisted in transporting Polish Bank gold reserves to France. In 1940 Halina settled in USA, participating in sporting activities, including among others, World Federation of Women's Sports. In 1929 she published a collection of poems entitled Some day.
